Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 April 2026
This policy explains how Non League Picks uses personal data when you browse the site, create an account, submit predictions, appear on leaderboards, and use related features such as reminders, records and settings.

We aim to keep this notice clear and easy to read. If anything here is unclear, or you want to exercise your privacy rights, please use the site contact page.

1. Who we are

Non League Picks is an online football prediction game designed for supporters of Step 5 and Step 6 of the English football pyramid. For UK data protection purposes, the controller is the operator of this website. Privacy queries, access requests, correction requests and deletion requests can be sent through the site contact page.

2. The information we collect

  • Account information, such as username, display name, email address and login credentials.
  • Profile information you choose to add or select, such as your chosen club, division-related selections and reminder preferences.
  • Your game activity, including predictions, entered rounds, points, round history, streaks, records and leaderboard positions.
  • Technical information needed to run the site safely, such as session identifiers, login status and basic security logs.
  • Messages or enquiries you send through contact or support features.

We do not need payment card data for any area of the prediction game.

3. How and why we use your information

  • To deliver the products, services, and features you have asked us to provide.
  • To comply with legal, regulatory, and other compliance requirements that apply to us.
  • To help us operate, manage, and improve our business in an effective and efficient way.
  • To send marketing or promotional communications where you have given us permission to do so.
  • We explain this because data protection law gives you certain rights over your personal information, and those rights can vary depending on why we are using it.
  • This section outlines the main reasons we use your data, the rights connected to each one, how you can exercise those rights, and what that means in practice.

4. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR

We rely mainly on contract to provide the game service you ask for, including account management, predictions, scoring, results, records and leaderboards.

We also rely on legitimate interests for running, securing and improving the site, preventing abuse, keeping game records and preserving league history.

Where you choose optional reminder emails or any other optional feature that depends on permission, we rely on consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time in your settings or by contacting us.

5. What is shown to other users

Because this is a prediction league, some information is intended to be visible within the game. This may include your name, chosen club, predictions after deadlines where relevant, scores, points, rankings, streaks and record statistics.

Please only use a display name you are comfortable showing to other players.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share limited data with:

  • hosting, database, backup or technical support providers who help us run the site;
  • email service providers, where reminder emails or service emails are used;
  • professional advisers, insurers or regulators where necessary; and
  • law enforcement or other authorities where we are legally required to do so.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to make the site work properly, including keeping you logged in, maintaining sessions and protecting the service.

If we introduce non-essential cookies, analytics or similar technologies, we will provide appropriate information and obtain consent where UK law requires it.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep account and game data for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for administration, dispute handling, security and record keeping.

Prediction history, points, round records, standings and all-time statistics may be retained for longer where this is necessary to preserve the integrity and history of the game.

Where data is no longer needed, we will delete it, anonymise it, or securely archive it in line with our retention needs.

9. Your privacy rights

Subject to the usual legal conditions and exemptions, you may have the right to:

  • ask for access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to erase your information in some circumstances;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive certain data in a portable format where applicable; and
  • withdraw consent at any time where consent is our basis.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your personal data is handled.

10. International transfers

We aim to keep data handling within the UK or in locations that have appropriate legal safeguards. If a service provider stores or accesses data outside the UK, we will take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection is in place.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect account data, predictions and scoring information. No internet service can ever be completely secure, so you should also keep your password private and contact us quickly if you think your account has been compromised.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website, the way the game operates, or legal requirements. The latest version will always appear on this page with the updated date shown at the top.
